Soteria Domestic Abuse Consultancy

Founder & Lead Consultant

Shani Rodda

Soteria was founded on lived experience and professional excellence. Built on a deep understanding of what survivors actually need, and what organisations must do to meet that need, Soteria exists to bridge the gap between good intentions and genuine, lasting change.

"I started Soteria because I knew there was a better way. One that puts survivors first, supports the people doing this vital work, and creates strategies that actually get implemented."

Background and Experience

A Career Built on Purpose

From Frontline to Strategy

Shani's career began in direct service delivery, working alongside survivors navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. That experience gave her an understanding of what survivors actually need, not just what policy says they should receive. It shaped everything that followed.

Strategic Leadership

Moving into strategic and commissioning roles, Shani has led needs assessments, developed service frameworks and supported organisations through significant periods of change, service improvement and organisational development.

Housing and Safe Accommodation

Drawing on extensive experience in housing and domestic abuse, Soteria provides specialist expertise in safe accommodation pathways, the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and the practical challenges local authorities and providers face in meeting their statutory duties.

Why Consultancy

Soteria was established to provide specialist expertise directly to organisations seeking practical, evidence-based support. This approach enables clients to access senior-level consultancy without the overhead associated with larger consultancy firms.

How We Work

Our Values

Survivor-Centred

Every piece of work begins and ends with the safety, dignity, and lived experience of survivors. This is not a principle we apply selectively. It is the foundation of everything Soteria does.

Honest and Direct

Organisations need clear, honest advice, not what they want to hear. Soteria provides frank, evidence-based guidance that helps you make real improvements.

Practically Focused

Strategy without implementation is just paperwork. Every recommendation Soteria makes is designed to be actionable, realistic, and measurable.

Deeply Collaborative

The best outcomes come from working alongside your team, not delivering from a distance. Soteria embeds into your organisation's thinking and culture.
